It manages data in thin provisioning pools. You can monitor performance at the page level and can migrate the data online to a different tier, automatically or manually, based on policies. HP XP7 Smart Tiers Software supports up to three tiers per pool. XP7 Smart Tiers Software helps utilize different types of storage media (SSD, 15K SAS, 7.2K SAS) optimally. With page level movements across tiers, it enables the most effective utilization of expensive tiers such as SSD by helping facilitate that only the most frequently accessed data is stored there.
